Honda NR750

The NR750 was probably the most over-engineered and over priced motorcycle ever built.

Costing a mere £38000 (R380 000) the NR had Oval pistons, 32 valves and  an eight into four into two into one into two exhaust .

Honda produced 600 NR `s and every one of them were hand-built. The cost of such bespoke novelty - the body panels are individually hand-made in numbered sets - is gruesome. The screen alone costs R15000 to replace. For the price of a full set of bodywork, you could buy a brand-new RC30, plus a CG125 for nipping to the shops. The forks have over 20,000 alternative damping adjustments to choose from, and I wouldn't bother with any of them.

The V4 engine's power starts at 13,000 RPM and finishes at 17,500 RPM but it would run to 21,000 RPM with the long stroke engine.
